The Robert Neihardt Award

The Robert Neihardt Award

A world-class competition for children under 18 years old by the end of 31 June.

Are you or your child interested in science, public health, nutrition, culinary arts, or agriculture?  This is a fun, interactive learning competition to explore where science and our food systems interact.

The competition is broken down into age groups.

High School age participants will compete by building a project that addresses a question posed by the Robert Neihardt Award (RNA) committee.  This is in a multistage process to allow students a chance to experience a proposal submission process.  The first part is a written description of their novel solution or a review of existing information.  The second portion of the competition will consist of those participants asked to attend the second round.  This round will be for a complete presentation of their original ideas.

Awards: The top three projects will place in the competition. The third-place prize includes a trophy or medal and a Letter of Appreciation detailing their project and work and a $50 gift card. The second-place award includes a trophy or medal, a letter of appreciation detailing their project and work, and a $100 gift card. The grand prize includes a trophy or medal, a letter of appreciation detailing their project and work, and a $500 gift card.
